Cost for Phase I and Phase II - $11.1 million – VMCF contribution - $2.6 million

Phase III         (Site Work, Redwood Children’s Center, Medical/Dental/Mental Health, Baby/Toddler Area, Admissions, Visiting, Children Support Services, Administration and Volunteer Offices

Cost for Phase III - $14.1 million – VMCF contribution - $3 million

TOTAL PROJECT COST - $25.2 million – VMCF contribution total - $5.6 million

  • November 1999 – Toy Story II – Movie Premier Fundraising Event (raised over $200,000)

 

  • October 2001 – Monsters, Inc. – Movie Premier Fundraising Event (raised over $400,000)

 

  • June 2003 – Start of site work – Phase I
  • June 2003 – Groundbreaking for Phase II

 

  • September 2003 – Foundation contributed $1,800,000 to County for Phase II

 

  • November 2003 – Start of Phase II construction (children’s housing, kitchen, and dining room)

 

  • December 2003 – Helping Hand Series in Press Democrat (raised over $200,000)

 

  • April 2004 – Foundation contributed $6,000 to County for Redwood Children’s Center (specialized equipment and furniture needs)

 

  • March 2005 – Foundation contributed $801,898 to County for full, professional kitchen for Valley of the Moon Children’s Home (Phase II kitchen and dining area)

 

  • May 2005 – Completion of Phase II construction
  • May 2005 – Dedication of Phase II

 

  • May 2005 – Foundation contributed $200,000 to County to cover the cost of plan update for Phase III

 

  • June 2005 – Children moved into new Valley of the Moon Children’s Home

 

  • March 2007 – Foundation contributed $1,000,000 to County for Phase III (first of three)

 

  • October 2007 – Groundbreaking for Phase III
  • October 2007 – Start of Phase III construction

 

  • October 2007 – Foundation contributed $1,000,000 to County for Phase III (second of three)

 

  • March 2008 – Foundation received $200,000 grant from Sonoma Paradiso Foundation

 

  • December 2008 – Foundation contributed $800,000 to County for Phase III (third and final of commitment)

 

  • March 2009 – Completion and Dedication of Phase III
